    PV vs. TN High review

PV's defense fared well the first possession as TN High had difficulty moving the ball down the field. After that PV took the field on offense and Cedric hooked up with Meador for around a 20 yard TD pass. TN High fumbled which was recovered by PV. TN High then drove the ball down the field for a TD. After that PV was stalled out on offense pretty well, both teams roatated 2nd teamers in. I think TN high ended up scoring four times to the two times for PV.

PV Observations: No huddle offense, honestly I dont see how anybody in the LPD can beat them if they run this well. Teams will wear down big time on defense and being able to rotate three hard runners will wear teams out. The D-Line played well, up the middle especially. PV appeared to be a bit week to the outside especially after the first set of Defensive Ends were replaced. Biggest concern on defense has to be defending the pass, TN High had no problem at all spliting the defense over the middle of the field or on out patterns to the sidelines. PV did defend streaks and fade patterns well. On offense, PV is a better running team than they are throwing team at this point. However, I dont feel they will have much problem doing either against A level competition. PV also broke out some of the old power running sets, my favorite was the T in which Cedric lined up on center with the Pinkstons and Murphy behind him. The mis-direction that PV was able to run out of this was very effective. TN High has a beast in number 44 in Strickland (I believe thats the kids name) guy can play the LB posistion. He caused havoc all night. PV's offensive line fared much better than I thought and I'm very impressed with the work that has been done by the entire team in the weight room. Jason Neely did appear to hurt his back a little bit tonight, I hope all is well there. I know he's been having trouble out of it. Someone said he's not playing next week anyway due to wisdom teeth removal, this could give him time to rest up for the season opener. All in all very impressed with both teams and I expect both TN High and PV to contend for the championship in their districts.

Re: PV vs. TN High review

Powell Valley scored once and Tennessee High scored twice unless they scored on their last drive which was out of my view.

#20 for Powell Valley looked chiseled but he didn't get a lot of carries. I think Powell Valley's only flaw was that they relied upon Cedric too much.

So, should THS be able to handle themselves against the Bearcats next week?

PV has been practicing that classic-T with the veer pretty extensively. Did they run the option much? From what formation--I or T?
